Open postdoctoral research positions in the Applied Statistics Center at Columbia University

Postdoctoral research positions in applied statistics: hierarchical (multilevel) models for problems in social science and public health, under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Gelman.

Methodological challenges include: understanding and summarizing inferences from multilevel models; analysis of survey data poststratified into many categories; combining expert judgments; modeling complex structures of interactions; and measurement error models.

Application areas include public opinion, social work, risk analysis, and bioassays. See Andrew Gelman's research papers and papers by current and former students and postdocs for more information.

Applicants would ideally be able to program well and be familiar with Bayesian statistics.

There are several things you can apply for:

Interested students can apply to one, two, or all three of these possibilities to make it more likely that some position can be put together for them. Any applicants for the Earth Institute postdoc and the statistics Assistant Professorship should also contact me so that I can coordinate things.

Columbia University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
